Peter Groenendaal, a proud ‘Amsterdammer’, is a great believer in markets. Groenendaal, founder of Placemaking Plus has visited many markets all over the world. These streets can vary from neighbourhood street markets to markets in buildings. He shares his experiences on three local markets in Crete (Greece), Buenos Aires (Agentina) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
“A weekly market for classic cars could enhance the city’s identity and provide a vibrant venue for community gathering. Every Saturday food trucks could set up in a parking lot with a line-up of classic cars for sale along the edges. If local community leaders are open to it, a market can be anything.”
